Neck Stretches | Treat & Prevent Pain in Just 5 Minutes Per Day

Neck pain affects many people's productivity at work and overall quality of life. In fact, one quarter of Americans report currently suffering from chronic neck pain. The main cause of neck pain is poor habits. Many people spend eight hours a day looking at a computer. Bad posture at the computer will eventually take a toll on your body and lead to chronic neck pain. Neck pain is one of the most frustrating forms of pain because it can cause pain in other areas of the body such as shoulder pain, back pain, chronic headache and migrane. Take a short five minute break from work twice a day and peform these simple exercies.

For each position you will start looking ahead and move your neck into the position slowly, hold for one second and slowly return to the original position. Repeat each movement 10 times before moving onto the next movement. If you experience pain, stop these exercises.

1) Look straight ahead and tilt your head up. Hold for one second and return to the original position. This is one repetition. Perform 10 reps.

2) Look straight ahead and tilt your head down.

3) Look straight and rotate your head the right.

4) Look straight ahead and rotate your head to the left.

5) Tilt your head to the left.

6) Tilt your head to the right.

7) Tuck your chin so your head is in line with your shoulders.
